In the Shadows of Beauty
This summer, I traveled to Joshua Tree and Yosemite, two places that feel like they exist in their own rhythm—untouched, timeless, alive. Capturing them on film was as much about preserving their beauty as it was about sitting with the complexity of what they represent. These lands are awe-inspiring, yet their history is heavy. The displacement of Native peoples and the violence tied to their preservation can’t be ignored, even as we celebrate the fact that these spaces remain protected for all to experience. Through this collection, I hope to share not just the landscapes but the feelings they stirred—wonder, reflection, and a bittersweet appreciation for what it means to stand in such sacred places.
